Nocino liquor (or Nocillo) is a traditional digestive liquor in the Sorrento peninsula in Campania. Extremely aromatic is obtained by maceration in the nuts of nuts collected, according to tradition, at the end of June on St. John's Day.

Ingredients: alcohol, Sorrento walnuts, water, sugar and spices

Nuts gathered in the Sorrento gardens, as tradition dictates, on June 24, the day of St. John, are infused with all the husk, along with spices, and let stand for a few months. To the infusion is added sugar, and the water necessary to obtain the volume of 40°.

The infusion, preparation is still considered an effective remedy for the treatment of many diseases of the gastro-intestinal tract.
