The Cirò wine, in his Red and Rosé varieties, is produced with grapes from vines Gaglioppo and, in a maximum of 5%, from Trebbiano Toscano and Greek White. The Cirò Bianco must instead be obtained entirely by Greek Bianco grapes, for which an addition is permitted up to 10% of Tuscan Trebbiano grapes.
The DOC (Designation of origin) for Cirò wine was made in 1989. The Disciplinary identifies three specific types of Cirò: Red, Rosé and White.
